Change your macbook pro bluetooth discoverable as name to "." to make your Bose Quiet Comfort headphones stop screaming your device name at you. In fact, changing the bluetooth name to a period symbol makes it not say anything about connecting. Of course it'll still yell the battery percentage at you when you turn them on, but it's half a victory not hearing "Connected to Jeff's Mac Book Pro 3" every time it connects or disconnects. Especially useful when you're trying to fall asleep listening to some audio book and your headphones jolt you awake when your laptop disconnects after it goes to sleep.
Maybe Bose/Apple will eventually get around to putting in the obvious voice prompt volume control feature.
